Bio

Scott "Shack" Hackler was born in Bloomington, Indiana. He began singing at an early age and played various musical instruments before settling into a lifelong love affair with the piano. He began composing music in his teens. He has worked as a musician, composer, arranger, music director, and music educator. He has composed music in a wide variety of styles, with pieces ranging from solo piano and chamber music to gospel choir numbers. He has toured the United States extensively as a solo artist and as an accompanist. He has also worked as a studio musician, doing session work (piano, keyboards, bass guitar, and background vocals) on albums for numerous artists. 

In 2010, he graduated with High Distinction from Concordia University Saint Paul with a BA in Music Theory and Composition. 
  
Since moving to Colorado in 2012, Shack has performed regularly in the Denver metro area and around the state, both as a solo artist and as a member of numerous area bands.

In 2018, Shack won the Colorado Blues Challenge. As Solo/Duo Champion, he will represent the Colorado Blues Society at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee, in January, 2019.

He is the 2017 winner of the Colorado Blues Society Members Choice Holley Award for keyboards.

Scott is the proud father of two sons, Grant and Sheldon. He currently resides in Golden, Colorado.
