Bio

Scott "Shack" Hackler was born in Bloomington, Indiana. He began singing at an early age and played various musical instruments before settling into a lifelong love affair with the piano. He began composing music in his teens. He has worked as a musician, composer, arranger, music director, and music educator. He has composed music in a wide variety of styles, with pieces ranging from solo piano and chamber music to gospel choir numbers. He has toured the United States extensively as a solo artist and as an accompanist. He has also worked as a studio musician, doing session work (piano, keyboards, bass guitar, and background vocals) on albums for numerous artists. 

In 2010, he graduated with High Distinction from Concordia University Saint Paul with a BA in Music Theory and Composition. 
  
Since moving to Colorado in 2012, Shack has performed regularly in the Denver metro area and around the state, both as a solo artist and as a member of numerous area bands.

In January, 2019, Shack was a finalist in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee.

In 2018, he was the Solo/Duo Champion of the Colorado Blues Challenge. He has also won several Colorado Blues Society Members Choice Holley Awards, including best keyboards for 2017 and 2018, and best solo/duo performer for 2018.

Scott is the proud father of two sons, Grant and Sheldon. He currently resides in Golden, Colorado.
